As a reminder, this site deals with facts, not innuendo or fanaticism. Your comments are welcome; however, please be respectful of the tone of the blog. For example, the whole racism thing is way out of line. Look at the posting - it simply states facts. The guys that we've met that are from Mexico, Brazil, or whereever have been very nice, very polite and seem to be the best craftsmen on the site. In fact, I'd rather have them working in my home than most of the other contractors I've met. So get off the racist thing. It just has no place here.
On the Pulte comment, any company can be categorized as "good"; it all depends on the criteria. Take Pulte, for instance. The company was noted for the JD Power Award, which clearly speaks to their achievements in several categories. If this is as far as you go, the company looks pretty good.
Look under the surface, however and you will find that the New England division has no score, as it is too new to have been included. It's a good thing, as the New England division is, in this author's experience and opinion, sorely lacking in several key areas. As is noted in several posts, product quality, ability to manage contractors, failure to respond to or answer specific questions, supporting an unsafe worksite and misrepresenting information to potential homeowners all are documented here. It's simple - the facts speak for themselves.
What Pulte cares about is Pulte, period. Once you've turned in your survey, you're done. You aren't needed any more, because the survey is everything to them. It determines merit increases and bonuses. When pressed about what's important, this is what comes up.
As to the comment that no one else is unhappy, I suggest you knock on some doors. I have, and can tell you 25% of the residents have expressed displeasure and dismay over how Pulte is handling the site.
Good company? Perhaps. The New England Division? Let's find out what Pulte says when the facts are exposed.
